Renfrew Open Scottish Cup Campaign as Draw Announced

Rocks begin the 2024/25 SBC Scottish Cup at Home!

Renfrew, Scotland | basketballscotland announced the draw for this seasons edition of the SBC Scottish Cup earlier this week as teams from across Scotland vie for lifting the prestigious Cup, in February.

The draw confirmed that Renfrew Rocks will welcome SBC Division 2 side, Tayside Musketeers to the Renfrew Leisure Centre, for the first home fixture of the season, on a revised date of Saturday 5th October at 11.20am, to accommodate the visitors travel.

Head Coach, Johnathan MacLeod, commented;

It’s great to start the Scottish Cup campaign at home and get support behind us as open our account. We want RLC to be a tough place to come and play and be strong at home across both the league and cup competitions. Tayside will be a tough match up, Divisions go out the window in the cup, that’s the beauty, the fairytale. We know the pressure is on us as a Division 1 team and we need the boys to come prepared to play.

A shorthanded, 6-man Renfrew took down Tayside in their previous meeting in the 2021-22 season, Renfrews lone season in SBC Division 2, where they went on to take the league title undefeated.

Playing at home for the first time in the 2024/25 season will give Rocks fans their first chance to see a number of summer signings in action.
