Renfrew Rocks will tip of the 2023-24 Scottish Basketball Championship season away to City of Edinburgh Kings on the weekend of the 13th October.
The latest edition of the SBC season will see the league structure taking a new, highly competitive look moving forward. Changes to the structure from BasketballScotland over the summer will see the top flight cut to just 8 teams, with Division 2 moving to 10 teams. Renfrew Rocks made the cut to stay in Scotland's top league after their 7th placed debut finish last year, but will be looking to solidify a better record in a tighter league. Three teams were cut from Division 1 and moved down to bolster the 2nd Division, following club consultation and an ask for a more competitive top flight.
With each team playing each other in a 3 game series throughout the season, the reduced number of teams and return of automatic relegation will bring an enhanced sense of urgency to each SBC fixture.
Renfrew will open the season on the road in Edinburgh before returning home for the first of two home ties against Sony Centre Fury. The team will close out the opening month away to Stirling before welcoming reigning SBC treble Champions, Boroughmuir Blaze.
Rocks will host 3 of last years top 4 at home twice, with Falkirk taking a trip to Renfrew 22nd October and 25th February, Boroughmuir 5th November and 10th March and St Mirren on 12th November and 17th March. Fans can see 11 SBC games at home this season, with tickets to be released soon via the club website.
