Renfrew Head South for Pre-Season

Preston, England | The preparation for the upcoming 2022-23 season is well underway as Renfrew Rocks headed south for a preseason mini-camp, powered by Spartan Protein, to one of the top English Basketball Academies, Myerscough.

The intense weekend trip south will see Head Coach Johnathan MacLeod and the squad come together for preparation games against some of England's top talent as well as on court practice time in one of the best facilities in the country.

Working in collaboration with GB youth Head Coach, Troy Culley to facilitate the camp, the prep games will provide the Academy side with their final chance to impress before the side head out to Riga, Latvia for the European Youth Basketball league where they will face some of the top sides on the continent. Also heading to Preston to face both sides will be NBL side Liverpool Basketball Club as they get ready for their English National League campaign.

Renfrew athletes will be supported by the experts at Spartan Protein, to aid in the recovery during the tight turnaround of intense periods of basketball.

Speaking ahead of the trip, MacLeod commented

It is a fantastic opportunity for us to immerse ourselves in a high performance environment such as Myerscough Basketball Academy as we add the final touches to our preseason prep. We are facing some high quality competition and look forward to the task, having the opportunity to spend 48 hours together completely focused on our own progression will be a huge boost.

The development focused trip will see Rocks' 16 man squad take the trip south featuring new signings as they look to gel as a unit ahead of their opening competitive match at home to Falkirk Fury in the first round proper of the Scottish Cup.
